Here we have our new double ended multi-curved anticlastic sinusoidal forming stake.
Made and designed by our parent company Linic Plastics Ltd.
Made from the same extremely hard high performance thermo plastic as our other sinusoidal stake.
Overall length 30cm.
Three 'bolt' holes in the middle to allow you to fix to a workbench or secure in a vice.
This tool is used to form compound curves in sheet metal.
Using this process the metal is compressed in the centre and stretched on the edges ... the resulting form is that of a saddle or once you pop you never stop pringle (crisp) shape.
Anticlastic raising is usually done using a combination of steel and plastic.
It is better to use a plastic stake and a steel hammer as using a steel stake you may find you have a lot of planishing to do and also offers less control.
